Description
Primula denticulata ‘Rubra’ is a clump-forming perennial producing vibrant ruby-red, globe-shaped flower heads in early to mid-spring above a neat rosette of fresh green foliage. The spherical clusters create a striking display in borders, rockeries, or containers, providing both colour and texture to the spring garden. Its compact habit makes it suitable for front-of-border planting or mixed container displays. This cultivar attracts early-season pollinators, offering ecological and ornamental value while providing long-lasting spring interest.
It thrives in partial shade to full shade in moist, well-drained soil enriched with organic matter. Low-maintenance once established, it benefits from regular watering during dry periods. Although non-native to the UK, it provides reliable colour and structural interest in spring gardens.
