Astilbe ‘Dsseldorf’ – 2026

Description

Astilbe ‘Dsseldorf’ is a striking perennial valued for its bold, crimson-red plumes that emerge in mid to late summer. The dense, feathery flowers rise gracefully above a mound of deeply divided green foliage, creating a vibrant splash of colour in shaded borders, woodland gardens, or moist planting schemes. Its richly coloured blooms provide excellent contrast when paired with paler Astilbes or foliage plants with silver or variegated tones.

It thrives in moist, humus-rich soils and prefers partial to full shade, though it can tolerate morning sun if the soil is kept consistently damp. A reliable, clump-forming plant, it requires little maintenance beyond removing spent flower stems and mulching to preserve soil moisture. Highly attractive to pollinators, Astilbe ‘Dsseldorf’ adds both ornamental and ecological value to summer garden displays.
