Description
Solidago \’Citronella\’ is a vigorous, clump-forming perennial known for its bright green, lance-shaped foliage and arching stems adorned with golden-yellow flower plumes in late summer to early autumn. The upright, airy flower spikes provide long-lasting colour and texture, making it a striking addition to borders, mixed perennial beds, and naturalistic plantings. Its blooms attract bees, butterflies, and other pollinators, offering both ornamental and ecological value.
Thriving in full sun with well-drained soil, Solidago \’Citronella\’ is hardy and low-maintenance. It benefits from regular cutting back after flowering to maintain a neat habit and promote fresh growth for the following season. Its combination of vivid flowers, architectural form, and pollinator appeal makes it a versatile and rewarding plant for a wide range of garden styles, from contemporary beds to cottage-inspired plantings.
