Rosemary ‘Roseus’

Description

Rosemary ‘Roseus’ is a unique and sought-after variety cultivated primarily for the unusual beauty of its blooms, which differ from the standard blue by offering delicate shades of pale pink to lavender-rose. While it retains the classic, resinous pine aroma found in the leaves of all rosemary plants, making it perfectly suitable for seasoning roast meats and vegetables, it is most often chosen by gardeners looking to add a softer, pastel colour palette to their herb border.

This plant is typically grown as a compact, bushy shrub that adds neat structure to the garden or serves as an aromatic specimen in a terracotta container. It is reasonably hardy but thrives best when protected from harsh, freezing winds. For the best results and most prolific pink flowering, plant it in a location with full sun. It is highly drought-tolerant once established and demands poor, sharp-draining soil, as it will struggle and potentially rot if left in heavy, wet ground.
