Description
Phlox paniculata ‘Spitfire’ is an upright perennial with lance-shaped green foliage. From midsummer into early autumn, it produces dense clusters of carmine-red, fragrant flowers. These blooms attract bees and butterflies while adding vibrant colour and ecological value to borders, cottage gardens, and mixed perennial beds.
Thriving in fertile, moist but well-drained soil, ‘Spitfire’ prefers full sun to partial shade. Regular deadheading of spent flowers encourages continued flowering and helps maintain a tidy habit. Phlox paniculata ‘Spitfire’ combines bold colour, fragrance, and wildlife support, making it a rewarding choice for UK gardens.
