Description
Papaver orientale Royal Wedding is a stunning oriental poppy, celebrated for its large, pure white blooms with a contrasting dark central blotch. The ruffled, cup-shaped flowers rise on tall, sturdy stems above coarse, hairy green foliage, creating an elegant and eye-catching display in early summer borders. Its clean, bright colour adds a touch of refinement and contrast to cottage gardens, mixed perennial beds, and larger planting schemes.
This hardy perennial thrives in well-drained soil and prefers a sunny position, returning reliably year after year. Fully suited to the UK climate, it requires minimal maintenance beyond cutting back after flowering to encourage fresh foliage. Its nectar-rich blooms attract pollinators, adding ecological value, while the long-lasting flowers provide both ornamental and seasonal interest. Papaver orientale Royal Wedding combines elegance, resilience, and summer colour, making it a dependable addition to any garden.
