Lunaria annua

Description

Lunaria annua is a charming perennial that brings soft spring colour followed by its well known silver seed pods, adding interest that lasts long after the flowers fade. Its upright stems and delicate purple blooms create a gentle, cottage style look that fits beautifully into borders, plant beds, and mixed displays. As the season progresses, the seed pods develop their distinctive papery discs, giving the plant a unique texture that stands out in any garden setting.

This easy, reliable plant grows well in well drained soil and is happy in both sunny and lightly shaded spots. Water during dry spells to support steady growth, and trim back spent stems to keep the plant looking tidy. Lunaria annua is a low maintenance choice that rewards simple care with long lasting colour and decorative seed heads that bring structure and charm through the year.
