Euphorbia ‘Galaxy Glow’

Description

Euphorbia characias ‘Galaxy Glow’, commonly known as Mediterranean Spurge, is a compact, evergreen perennial that brings architectural interest to gardens. Its lance-shaped leaves emerge red-purple when young, maturing to a dark, purple-green hue, creating a dynamic foliage display. In late spring to early summer, bright yellow-green floral bracts adorn red stems, offering a striking contrast and vibrant colour to borders and containers.

Thriving in well-drained, light soil under full sun, ‘Galaxy Glow’ is well-suited for UK gardens. Once established, this drought-tolerant plant copes effortlessly with dry, sunny spots, even in poor soil conditions. Its compact form makes it ideal for gravel gardens, Mediterranean-themed plantings, and wildlife-friendly gardens, attracting beneficial pollinators.

Gardeners seeking year-round interest will appreciate ‘Galaxy Glow’s’ evergreen foliage and seasonal colour transitions. Its bright floral bracts not only enhance garden aesthetics but also support local biodiversity. Additionally, its compact size and drought tolerance make it a low-maintenance choice for various garden settings.
