Echinacea ‘Doubledecker’

Description

Echinacea purpurea Doubledecker, commonly known as the Doubledecker Coneflower, is a unique perennial that brings structure and vibrancy to gardens. It stands out with its two-tiered blooms, where a secondary set of petals grows atop the main flower, creating a striking appearance. The deep rose-pink petals contrast beautifully with the bold, orange-brown cone at the centre, making it an eye-catching feature for borders, beds, and wildlife-friendly gardens.

Thriving in well-drained soil under full sun, this hardy perennial is an excellent addition to UK gardens. Blooming from July to September, it provides long-lasting colour and pairs well with other late-season flowers. Once established, it becomes drought-tolerant, making it a low-maintenance option for those seeking an easy yet visually impactful plant. Regular deadheading will prolong the flowering period and encourage fresh blooms.

Echinacea purpurea Doubledecker is perfect for gardeners looking to enhance their outdoor spaces with a unique and resilient plant. Its long-lasting flowers not only add a touch of charm but also attract butterflies and other beneficial pollinators. Additionally, the blooms make excellent cut flowers, allowing you to enjoy their beauty indoors as well as in the garden.
