Description
Delphinium Belladonna \’Piccolo\’ is a compact, hardy perennial admired for its upright spikes of soft lilac-blue flowers that bloom from mid to late summer. The delicate flowers rise above finely divided, dark green foliage, creating a charming vertical accent suitable for smaller borders, cottage gardens, or mixed perennial plantings. Its nectar-rich blooms are attractive to bees, butterflies, and other pollinators, adding both ornamental and ecological value.
Thriving in full sun to partial shade with fertile, well-drained soil, Delphinium Belladonna \’Piccolo\’ benefits from staking or support to maintain upright flower spikes. Cutting back spent stems encourages a tidier appearance and can prolong flowering in favourable conditions. Hardy, low-maintenance, and long-flowering, this compact cultivar is ideal for adding vertical colour and structure without overwhelming smaller garden spaces.
