Description
Delphinium \’Opaal\’ is a refined perennial known for its tall, upright spires of semi-double blue flowers with a contrasting white centre. The sturdy stems carry the blooms above dark green, deeply lobed foliage, creating a striking vertical display in summer borders. Its abundant flower spikes attract pollinators while providing strong ornamental interest, and the lush foliage adds structure and texture to mixed beds. Ideal for adding height and colour contrast, it enhances the overall composition of cottage or formal garden borders.
This cultivar thrives in well-drained, fertile soils and prefers full sun. Regular watering and staking during flowering help maintain upright form and encourage prolific blooms. Hardy and resilient, \’Opaal\’ offers reliable summer colour and architectural impact, making it a standout addition to any garden where height, vivid colour, and ornamental structure are desired.
