Description
Cornus sanguinea ‘Midwinter Fire,’ commonly known as Norman Haddon or Dogwood, is a deciduous shrub renowned for its vibrant stem colors, especially during the winter months. While primarily valued for its ornamental qualities, this variety of Cornus is not typically grown for its edible features. Instead, it is cherished for its striking display of red, orange, and yellow stems that intensify in color during the colder seasons.
The shrub produces clusters of small, inconspicuous flowers in late spring, followed by white berries that are generally not considered palatable. However, Cornus Norman Haddon is a popular choice for hedging, creating a stunning visual impact with its colorful stems and providing interest even in the dormant season.
