Cambridge Gage

Description

Cambridge Gage is a vigorous and productive deciduous tree, prized for its small, sweet, greenish-yellow plums that ripen in late summer. In spring it produces delicate, pale pink blossoms that attract pollinators, followed by juicy, aromatic fruit ideal for fresh eating, cooking, or preserves. Its dense, spreading habit provides shelter for birds and beneficial insects, making it an excellent choice for wildlife-friendly gardens, productive orchard spaces, or mixed borders.

Well suited to UK conditions, Cambridge Gage thrives in fertile, well-drained soils with full sun exposure. It is hardy, relatively low maintenance, and responds well to pruning to maintain shape and encourage strong fruiting. This variety combines ornamental, ecological, and culinary value, offering seasonal interest and a reliable harvest of tasty plums.
