Description
Astilbe ‘Europa’ is a charming perennial valued for its soft pink plumes that bring a delicate touch of colour to shady borders and damp garden areas. Flowering in early to mid-summer, its feathery blooms rise elegantly above a mound of finely cut, dark green foliage, creating a light, airy effect in the garden. Its pastel flowers combine beautifully with whites, purples, and deeper pinks, making it a versatile choice for mixed plantings.
This cultivar thrives in moist, humus-rich soils and performs best in partial to full shade, though it can cope with morning or dappled sun provided the soil does not dry out. Reliable and easy to maintain, Astilbe ‘Europa’ requires little more than mulching in spring to conserve soil moisture and the removal of old stems after flowering. It is highly attractive to pollinators, offering both ornamental value and ecological benefit.
