Description
Monarda didyma ‘Cranberry Lace’ is a compact and elegant perennial that brings a touch of grace to any garden. From mid-summer to early autumn, it produces clusters of soft raspberry-pink flowers with a distinctive lacy appearance, adding a delicate texture to borders and containers. The aromatic, dark green foliage releases a minty fragrance when touched, enhancing the sensory experience of the garden. This cultivar is particularly valued for its resistance to powdery mildew, making it a reliable and low-maintenance choice for UK gardens.
Ecologically, ‘Cranberry Lace’ attracts bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds, supporting local biodiversity. The aromatic leaves can also be used to flavour teas or add fragrance to gardens. It prefers full sun to partial shade and well-drained soil, establishing quickly and thriving with minimal maintenance in most UK garden conditions.
