Description
Yucca filamentosa is a striking evergreen perennial known for its rosettes of rigid, sword-shaped green leaves adorned with delicate white filaments along the margins. In summer, tall spikes emerge from the centre, bearing clusters of creamy-white, bell-shaped flowers that are highly attractive to bees and other pollinators. Its architectural form makes it an excellent focal point in borders, rockeries, or dry, sunny areas, adding both structure and seasonal interest.
This species thrives in full sun and well-drained soil and is highly drought-tolerant once established. Low-maintenance by nature, it requires little care beyond removing old leaves and spent flower spikes. Its sculptural foliage and summer flowering make Yucca filamentosa a reliable choice for contemporary gardens, wildlife-friendly plantings, or xeriscaping schemes.
