Verbascum ‘Jackii’ – 2026

Description

Verbascum ‘Jackii’ is a compact, short-lived, semi-evergreen perennial that forms a rosette of hairy, grey-green leaves. From summer, it produces erect spikes of soft pink flowers with subtle darker eyes. The flowers are borne on unbranched stems above the foliage, creating a vertical accent in borders, gravel gardens, or cottage-style plantings. It works well in containers and as a cut flower, providing both ornamental appeal and seasonal interest.

Ecologically, ‘Jackii’ attracts pollinators, particularly bees and butterflies, thanks to its nectar-rich flowers. It prefers well-drained soils and full sun, tolerating chalky or alkaline conditions. The plant is hardy in UK gardens, low-maintenance, and drought-tolerant once established. Deadheading spent flowers encourages further bloom and prevents unwanted self-seeding. Its delicate pink flowers provide contrast and charm in mixed perennial borders.
