Description
Trollius Etna is an upright, clump-forming perennial that delivers a dramatic display of rich golden-orange blooms in late spring into early summer. The plant forms a bold base of glossy, deeply divided, toothed green leaves, lending texture and structure even before and after flowering. The bowl-shaped, vibrant flowers sit prominently above the foliage on strong stems, creating a showy contrast in garden borders, wet edges, or mixed perennial beds.
Ecologically, Etna is a great plant for pollinators, offering conspicuous flowers that attract bees and other insects when many plants are just coming into bloom. It thrives in moist to moisture-retentive, rich, fertile soil that does not dry out, and prefers a site in full sun to partial shade. It is hardy in the UK and benefits from cutting back after flowering to maintain a tidy appearance and encourage healthy subsequent growth.
