Description
Rudbeckia hirta ‘Toto Gold’ is a compact, clump-forming annual or short-lived perennial with bright golden-yellow daisy-like flowers surrounding dark brown central cones. Blooming from midsummer into autumn, it provides long-lasting colour and texture in borders, containers, and cottage-style gardens. Its upright stems and tidy bushy habit make it ideal for small-scale plantings or massed displays, while the flowers attract pollinators such as bees and butterflies, adding ecological as well as ornamental value.
It thrives in full sun in well-drained, moderately fertile soil and is low-maintenance, benefiting from occasional deadheading to prolong flowering. Non-native to the UK, it is valued for its vibrant colour, extended bloom period, and suitability for mixed borders or naturalistic plantings.
