Ruby Cherry Plum

Description

Ruby Cherry Plum is a compact and productive deciduous tree, valued for its small to medium-sized, deep red, sweet fruits that ripen in mid to late summer. In spring it produces delicate, pale pink blossoms that attract pollinators, followed by juicy, flavoursome fruit ideal for fresh eating, cooking, or preserves. Its dense, spreading habit provides shelter for birds and beneficial insects, making it a versatile choice for productive gardens, small orchards, or wildlife-friendly spaces.

Well suited to UK conditions, Ruby Cherry Plum thrives in fertile, well-drained soils with full sun exposure. It is hardy, relatively low maintenance, and responds well to light pruning to maintain shape and encourage strong fruiting. This variety combines ornamental, ecological, and culinary value, offering seasonal interest and a reliable harvest of high-quality fruit.
