Description
Pulmonaria angustifolia \’Azurea\’ is a low-growing, clump-forming perennial prized for its bright sky-blue, bell-shaped flowers that bloom in early spring above a rosette of fresh green, slightly spotted foliage. The flowers provide an early splash of colour in borders, woodland gardens, or shady containers. Its compact habit and early flowering make it ideal for underplanting deciduous shrubs or along shaded pathways. This cultivar attracts early-season pollinators, offering ecological value while enhancing the ornamental appeal of the garden.
It thrives in partial shade to full shade in moist, well-drained soil enriched with organic matter. Low-maintenance once established, it benefits from regular watering in dry periods and provides a reliable spring display. Although non-native to the UK, it is a versatile and long-lasting addition to shade gardens.
