Potentilla ‘Princess’

Description

Princess is a compact, deciduous shrub with a bushy to spreading habit. It has small, dark-green pinnate leaves which are approximately 2 to 4 cm in length. Generally, prefers partially shaded areas in order to produce more pink hues in its five-petaled flowers. In full sun, the pink colour will be less apparent, leaving a whiter flower with the normal golden orange centre. Remove dead or unwanted branches at the end of the season or at the onset of spring. This plant does well in most soil types, as long as the soil remains moist. Although it is deciduous, it is full hardy and can withstand the temperatures in all of the UK. While it can tolerate a variety of soil types and full sun to partial shade, several suggested uses include: flower borders where its beautiful blooms can stand out; use as a compact ground cover due to its dense foliage; or in more rustic settings, it works great in coastal areas, as well as informal gardens around a cottage.
