Description
Potentilla Arc-en-Ciel is a vibrant perennial that brings long-lasting colour to sunlit borders and containers. It forms a neat mound of palmate, mid-green foliage that resembles strawberry leaves, while its loose, arching stems carry semi-double to double flowers of rich red edged with yellow. Some blooms show bronzy tones or flecks that widen with age, giving a subtly changing, rainbow-like display. The flowering period stretches through the summer months, lighting up any planting scheme with warm, bold hues.
This plant prefers well-drained soil, full sun to partial shade, and is low maintenance once established. It tolerates a variety of soil types so long as drainage is good. After flowering, cutting back helps encourage a tidier habit and possible repeat blooms. It is non-native to the UK.
