Description
Papaver orientale Little Patty Plume is a distinctive oriental poppy, known for its frilled, double salmon-pink flowers that create a softer, more romantic display compared to the classic single-petalled varieties. The blooms rise above a mound of coarse, hairy green foliage, bringing texture, colour, and elegance to borders. Compact in form yet striking in appearance, this poppy is particularly suited to smaller gardens or spaces where a strong splash of summer colour is desired.
Thriving in well-drained soil and preferring a sunny position, this hardy perennial is well-suited to the UK climate and reliably returns each year. Low in maintenance, it benefits from cutting back after flowering to encourage fresh foliage growth. Its nectar-rich blooms attract bees and other pollinators, enhancing its ecological value. Papaver orientale Little Patty Plume combines ornamental beauty with resilience, making it a charming and dependable choice for cottage gardens, mixed borders, and summer displays.
