Description
Monarda Schneewittchen is a graceful perennial that brings pure white blooms and scented foliage to UK gardens. Upright stems carry whorls of tubular, two-lipped white flowers, often with green bracts, from mid summer into early autumn, creating a clean and soft contrast among more colourful planting. Its mid-green aromatic foliage adds texture and fragrance, especially when brushed or disturbed. The clump forming growth habit helps it maintain structure in borders and its appreciated for its ornamental and sensory qualities.
Ecologically, Schneewittchen is excellent for attracting bees, butterflies and other pollinators, providing nectar through its flowering months. It prefers full sun to partial shade, in moist but well-drained, humus-rich soil, and dislikes soils that dry out completely. It is fully hardy in UK gardens, and benefits from occasional division and deadheading to enhance flowering and vigour.
