Katy Apple

Description

Katy is a modern English dessert apple variety prized for its crisp texture, sweet-tart flavour and attractive bright red fruit. The tree develops a moderately vigorous, spreading habit with healthy green foliage and produces medium sized apples with red skin over a yellow background. The flesh is firm, juicy and aromatic, making it ideal for fresh eating and suitable for cooking or salads.

In spring, Katy is covered in abundant white blossom that attracts bees and other pollinators, supporting garden biodiversity. It thrives in fertile, well drained soil and a sunny position, where fruit can fully develop its flavour and colour. Well suited to UK gardens, Katy combines ornamental appeal, ecological value and a reliable autumn harvest with relatively straightforward care requirements.
