Description
Hosta coerulea is a hardy perennial valued for its striking blue-green foliage. The broad, slightly textured leaves form dense, mounded clumps, providing structure and contrast in shaded garden areas. In midsummer, upright spikes of pale lavender flowers rise above the foliage, adding height, seasonal interest, and attracting pollinators. Its bold leaf colour and tidy habit make it ideal for borders, woodland gardens, or as a specimen plant.
Thriving in partial to full shade with moist, well-drained soil, Hosta coerulea is hardy, low-maintenance, and reliable. The ornamental foliage maintains its visual appeal throughout the growing season, while the summer flowers enhance garden biodiversity. Its combination of striking blue-green leaves, compact growth, and seasonal blooms makes it a versatile and eye-catching choice for shaded planting schemes.
