Description
Hosta \’Captain Kirk\’ is a hardy perennial admired for its large, bold foliage. The green leaves are edged with creamy-yellow margins, forming dense, mounded clumps that add striking contrast and structure to shaded garden areas. In midsummer, upright spikes of pale lavender flowers rise above the foliage, providing seasonal interest and attracting pollinators. Its dramatic variegation and tidy habit make it ideal for borders, woodland gardens, or as a specimen plant.
Thriving in partial to full shade with moist, well-drained soil, \’Captain Kirk\’ is hardy, low-maintenance, and reliable. The ornamental foliage maintains its visual impact throughout the growing season, while the summer flowers enhance garden biodiversity. Its combination of bold variegation, substantial leaf size, and seasonal blooms makes it a versatile and eye-catching choice for shaded planting schemes.
