Description
Gypsophila pacifica, commonly known as Pacific Baby’s Breath, is a perennial plant that produces delicate, light pink to white flowers. These blooms are borne in airy panicles, creating a misty effect in the garden. The plant’s fine-textured, green foliage complements the soft hues of the flowers, adding to its ornamental appeal. It typically flowers from June to August, attracting pollinators such as bees and butterflies.
Preferring full sun and well-drained soils, Gypsophila pacifica is suitable for borders, rock gardens, and as a filler in floral arrangements. It is hardy in various climates and can tolerate dry conditions once established. Regular watering during dry spells and occasional division every few years will help maintain its vigour. This plant’s resilience and aesthetic qualities make it a valuable addition to diverse garden settings.
