Description
Geranium himalayense ‘Kaya’ is a striking perennial that brings both colour and structure to gardens. This cultivar features large, saucer-shaped, deep blue flowers with subtle purple veins, held above a mound of finely dissected, dark purple-green foliage. As the season progresses, the leaves mature to a dark green with maroon edges, providing year-round interest. The plant’s compact, clump-forming habit makes it ideal for borders, rock gardens, or as ground cover.
‘Kaya’ thrives in full sun to partial shade and prefers well-drained, moderately fertile soil. It is relatively low-maintenance, requiring minimal care once established. Regular deadheading can encourage prolonged flowering, and while it is relatively drought-tolerant, occasional watering during dry spells will help maintain its vigour. This cultivar is also known for its resistance to pests and diseases, making it a reliable choice for gardeners seeking both beauty and ease of care.
