Description
Echinacea purpurea ‘Green Twister’ is a hardy, herbaceous perennial admired for its unusual, twisted daisy-like flowers with petals showing a gradient from pink-purple at the base to green at the tips, blooming from mid to late summer. The upright flower stems rise above clumps of coarse, dark green foliage, adding height and striking architectural interest to borders, cottage gardens, and mixed perennial plantings. Its nectar-rich blooms attract bees, butterflies, and other pollinators, enhancing garden biodiversity.
Thriving in full sun with well-drained, moderately fertile soil, Echinacea purpurea ‘Green Twister’ benefits from deadheading spent flowers to maintain a tidy appearance and encourage prolonged flowering. Hardy, drought-tolerant, and relatively low-maintenance, this cultivar provides vibrant and unusual summer colour and vertical structure, making it an excellent choice for sunny borders and pollinator-friendly plantings.
