Description
Dicentra formosa \’Bacchanal\’ is a hardy, herbaceous perennial admired for its delicate, heart-shaped, soft pink flowers with white tips that bloom from late spring to early summer. The arching, pendant flowers rise above finely divided, dark green foliage, adding graceful movement and charm to shaded borders, woodland gardens, or mixed perennial plantings. Its nectar-rich blooms attract bees and other pollinators, enhancing garden biodiversity.
Thriving in partial shade to full shade with moist, well-drained soil, Dicentra formosa \’Bacchanal\’ benefits from removing spent flowers to maintain a tidy appearance and prolong flowering. Hardy and low-maintenance, it provides reliable early-season colour and texture, making it an excellent choice for adding elegance and subtle charm to shaded garden areas.
