Charles Ross Apple

Description

Charles Ross is a classic English dessert apple valued for its early ripening, crisp texture and sweet, aromatic flavour. The tree develops a moderately vigorous, spreading habit with healthy green foliage and produces medium sized apples with a pale yellow skin flushed with red. The flesh is firm, juicy and refreshing, making it perfect for fresh eating and a versatile choice for light cooking or salads.

In spring, Charles Ross is adorned with abundant white blossom that attracts bees and other pollinators, supporting garden biodiversity. It thrives in fertile, well drained soil and a sunny position, where fruit can develop full flavour and colour. Well suited to UK gardens and allotments, this variety combines ornamental appeal, ecological value and a rewarding early summer harvest with straightforward care requirements.
