Description
Astrantia major ‘Star of Love’ is a charming perennial featuring soft pink star-shaped flower umbels that rise above a mound of finely divided green foliage. Blooming from late spring to midsummer, its delicate flowers provide a gentle and romantic accent in borders, cottage gardens, or shaded woodland areas. The soft pink tones attract pollinators such as bees and butterflies, enhancing biodiversity while offering long-lasting visual appeal. Its combination of intricate blooms and textured foliage makes it a versatile and attractive choice for shaded garden spaces.
Thriving in moist, humus-rich soils, Astrantia major ‘Star of Love’ prefers partial to full shade and performs best when the soil is kept consistently damp. Low-maintenance and hardy, it benefits from occasional deadheading to prolong flowering and may self-seed in suitable conditions. Its ornamental charm and pollinator-friendly blooms make it a reliable addition to perennial borders or mixed shade plantings.
