Description
Amsonia ‘Blue Ice’ is a compact and reliable perennial prized for its clusters of star-shaped, deep blue flowers that appear in late spring to early summer. Its blooms are held above mounds of attractive, narrow, lance-shaped foliage that turns a rich golden-yellow in autumn, extending its seasonal interest well beyond flowering time. Smaller and tidier than many other Amsonias, ‘Blue Ice’ is particularly suited for borders, edging, or naturalistic planting schemes, where it provides both colour and texture. Hardy and low-maintenance, it thrives in well-drained soil with consistent moisture and enjoys a sunny to lightly shaded position. Resistant to pests and generally avoided by deer and rabbits, this plant is both versatile and dependable, making it a fine choice for gardeners looking for long-lasting structure and subtle colour.
