Description

Acer palmatum Emerald Lace is a delicate and graceful Japanese maple, prized for its finely dissected, lacy green foliage. The deeply cut leaves emerge fresh green in spring, keeping their vibrant colour through summer, before turning a fiery mix of red and orange in autumn. Its cascading, mounded habit gives it a soft, elegant appearance that works beautifully in mixed borders, rock gardens, containers, or as a specimen tree where its fine texture can be appreciated up close.

This deciduous shrub thrives in moist, well-drained, slightly acidic soil and prefers a sheltered spot in partial shade, though it will tolerate full sun if protected from strong winds. Well suited to the UK climate, it requires little maintenance beyond light pruning to enhance its natural form. Its year-round interest, from fresh spring growth to striking autumn colour, makes Acer palmatum Emerald Lace a versatile and eye-catching addition to gardens of all sizes, bringing elegance and refinement to any planting scheme.
