Description
Pulmonaria mollis is a clump-forming perennial producing soft, pale blue to lilac, funnel-shaped flowers in early spring above a rosette of fresh green, softly hairy foliage. The flowers provide early-season colour and texture to borders, rockeries, or shaded woodland gardens. Its low, spreading habit makes it ideal for underplanting shrubs or planting along shaded pathways. This species attracts early-season pollinators, enhancing ecological value while providing long-lasting ornamental interest.
It thrives in partial shade to full shade in moist, well-drained soil enriched with organic matter. Low-maintenance once established, it benefits from regular watering during dry spells. Although non-native to the UK, it is a reliable perennial for adding spring colour and subtle texture in shaded garden settings.
