Description
Phlox paniculata \’Popeye\’ is an upright, clump-forming perennial with lance-shaped green foliage and bold, fragrant white flowers marked by a pale pink centre, accented by beaujolais-red flower tubes. The large, rounded clusters of blooms appear in midsummer and continue into early autumn, attracting bees and butterflies while adding strong visual contrast and structure to borders and mixed perennial beds.
Thriving in fertile, moist but well-drained soil, \’Popeye\’ prefers full sun to partial shade. Deadheading fades encourages extended flowering and helps maintain plant vigour. This cultivar combines dramatic colour contrast, fragrance, and wildlife benefit, making it an impressive and rewarding choice for UK gardens.
