Phlox ‘Famous Coral’

Description

Phlox paniculata Coral Flame is a striking compact perennial that brings vibrant colour to garden borders and containers. From July through September, it produces large clusters of fragrant, coral-red flowers with a distinctive magenta eye, creating a dazzling display against its mid-green foliage. Its bushy, dwarf habit makes it ideal for smaller gardens or patio pots, where space is at a premium.

This hardy perennial thrives in fertile, moist but well-drained soil, flourishing in both full sun and partial shade. Regular watering is crucial, particularly during dry spells, to maintain its lush appearance and prolong the flowering period. Deadheading faded blooms will promote further flowering, ensuring a continuous display of colour throughout the summer months. Notably, ‘Coral Flame’ exhibits improved resistance to mildew compared to traditional taller phlox varieties, making it a more resilient choice for gardeners.

Beyond its visual appeal, Phlox Coral Flame emits a sweet fragrance that attracts bees, butterflies, and other pollinators, enhancing the biodiversity of your garden. Its compact size and vibrant hues make it a versatile addition to mixed borders, cottage gardens, and wildlife-friendly areas. Additionally, the fragrant blooms make excellent cut flowers, allowing you to bring a touch of summer indoors.
