Description
Persicaria affinis Superba is a vigorous, low-growing perennial valued for its dense mats of lush green foliage and striking, upright spikes of bright pink flowers in summer. The long-lasting blooms attract pollinators such as bees and butterflies, providing both visual and ecological interest in borders, rockeries, and groundcover plantings. Its spreading habit makes it ideal for edging paths, filling gaps in perennial beds, or creating a carpet of colour in larger garden areas.
This hardy perennial thrives in moist, well-drained soil and prefers a sunny to partially shaded position. Fully suited to the UK climate, it requires minimal maintenance beyond occasional trimming to maintain shape and encourage healthy growth. Its dense foliage helps suppress weeds and provides year-round structural interest, while the abundant flowers offer long-lasting seasonal appeal. Persicaria affinis Superba combines vibrant blooms with practical groundcover qualities, making it a reliable and versatile addition to any garden.
