Description
Monarda ‘Blaustrumpf’, also known as ‘Blue Stocking’, is a striking perennial that adds a splash of colour to any garden. Its dense clusters of deep violet-purple flowers bloom from mid to late summer, creating a vibrant display against its aromatic, lance-shaped foliage. This cultivar is part of the Bee-You series, valued for its tidy habit and resistance to mildew, making it ideal for borders, containers, or pollinator-friendly areas.
Ecologically, ‘Blaustrumpf’ attracts bees, butterflies, and other pollinators with its abundant nectar, supporting local biodiversity. The aromatic leaves, reminiscent of mint, can also be used to flavour teas or add fragrance to gardens. It prefers full sun to partial shade and well-drained soil, establishing quickly and thriving with minimal maintenance in most UK garden conditions.
