Hosta sieboldiana – 2026

Description

Hosta sieboldiana is a majestic perennial known for its large, bold foliage and architectural presence in shaded gardens. The thick, heart-shaped leaves are blue-green, heavily corrugated, and slightly cupped, forming a dense mound that adds texture and colour. In mid to late summer, tall scapes rise above the foliage carrying pale lavender flowers, providing vertical interest and attracting pollinators.

This species thrives in moist, fertile, well-drained soil and prefers partial shade to full shade. Low-maintenance once established, it is excellent for borders, woodland gardens, or as a specimen plant where its striking foliage and robust habit can be appreciated.
