Hemerocallis ‘Sweet Hot Chocolate’ – 2026

Description

Hemerocallis ‘Sweet Hot Chocolate’ is a deciduous, clump-forming perennial known for its striking, large, deep burgundy-red flowers with a golden-yellow throat. Each bloom measures approximately 12 cm across and is held above a clump of arching, strap-like green leaves, making it suitable for borders, containers, or as a groundcover. This cultivar is appreciated for its midseason blooming period and reblooming habit, providing continuous colour throughout the growing season.

Preferring full sun, ‘Sweet Hot Chocolate’ is adaptable to various soil types, including loam, sandy, and clay soils. It thrives in moist but well-drained conditions and is tolerant of both acidic and alkaline pH levels. As a low-maintenance plant, it requires minimal care to thrive and can be propagated by division in early spring or early autumn.
