Description
Geranium oxonianum ‘Tess’ is a vigorous, clump-forming perennial that offers both ornamental and ecological value in the garden. This cultivar features slightly glossy, lobed green leaves adorned with dark bronze markings, providing visual interest even when not in bloom. From late spring to early autumn, it produces delicate white flowers with a subtle pink flush and faint magenta veins, adding a touch of elegance to shaded or woodland gardens. The plant’s dense foliage helps suppress weeds, making it an excellent choice for ground cover.
‘Tess’ thrives in moist, well-drained soils and prefers partial to full shade, making it ideal for woodland settings or shaded borders. It is relatively low-maintenance, requiring minimal care once established. Regular deadheading can encourage prolonged flowering, and while it is relatively drought-tolerant, occasional watering during dry spells will help maintain its vigour. This cultivar is also known for its resistance to pests and diseases, making it a reliable choice for gardeners seeking both beauty and ease of care.
