Delphinium Pacific Giant ‘Astolat’ – 2026

Description

Delphinium Pacific Giant ‘Astolat’ is a tall, hardy perennial admired for its impressive spikes of deep violet-blue flowers with darker centres that bloom from mid to late summer. The densely packed flower spikes rise above clumps of finely divided dark green foliage, creating dramatic vertical interest in borders, cottage gardens, and mixed perennial plantings. Its nectar-rich blooms attract bees, butterflies, and other pollinators, adding both ornamental and ecological value.

Thriving in full sun to partial shade with fertile, well-drained soil, Delphinium Pacific Giant ‘Astolat’ benefits from staking to support its tall flower spikes. Cutting back spent stems helps maintain a tidy appearance and can encourage prolonged flowering in favourable conditions. Hardy, long-flowering, and relatively low-maintenance, this cultivar provides a striking display of summer colour and vertical structure, making it an excellent choice for dramatic garden borders.
