Description
Astilbe arendsii \’Flamingo\’ is a striking perennial admired for its upright plumes of vibrant pink flowers that appear in midsummer above dark green, finely divided foliage. Its feathery blooms create a bold, textured display that adds vertical interest and colour to shaded borders, woodland gardens, or near water features. The long-lasting flowers, combined with the ornamental foliage, make it particularly effective in group plantings or mixed perennial beds, providing continuous visual appeal.
Thriving in humus-rich, consistently moist soil, it prefers partial to full shade and benefits from regular watering during dry periods. Low-maintenance and reliable, \’Flamingo\’ requires only cutting back spent stems after flowering and occasional mulching to conserve soil moisture. Its nectar-rich blooms attract pollinators, enhancing both ornamental and ecological value in shady garden areas.
