Description
Astilbe arendsii \’Else Schluck\’ is a striking perennial prized for its upright plumes of rich pink flowers that appear in midsummer above dark green, finely divided foliage. Its dense, feathery flower spikes add both colour and texture to shaded borders, woodland gardens, or near water features. This cultivars compact yet vigorous growth makes it ideal for mixed plantings, while its long-lasting blooms provide sustained visual interest throughout the flowering season.
Thriving in humus-rich, consistently moist soil, it prefers partial to full shade and benefits from regular watering during dry periods. Low-maintenance and reliable, \’Else Schluck\’ only requires cutting back spent stems after flowering and mulching to conserve soil moisture. Its nectar-rich blooms attract pollinators, enhancing the ecological value of shaded garden areas.
