Description
Anchusa azurea ‘Dropmore’ is a striking perennial known for its brilliant, deep blue, forget-me-not-like flowers that bloom profusely from late spring into summer. The tall, upright stems are clothed in rough, hairy leaves, providing a bold vertical accent in borders and wildlife-friendly gardens. Its vibrant flowers are particularly attractive to bees, butterflies, and other pollinators, making it a valuable plant for supporting biodiversity. This cultivar is well-suited to cottage gardens, mixed borders, and naturalistic plantings, where its vivid colour adds a dramatic contrast. It thrives in sunny positions with well-drained soil and can tolerate poorer soils, making it a versatile addition to many garden styles. While low-maintenance once established, staking may be necessary to support its tall growth, especially in exposed sites. Regular deadheading helps extend the flowering season and maintains a tidy appearance.
