Description
Hemerocallis ‘Blue Sheen’ is a vibrant daylily cultivar celebrated for its striking red-grape flowers with blue undertones, complemented by cheerful citron-yellow throats. These trumpet-shaped blooms, measuring approximately 1518 cm (67 inches) across, are borne on sturdy scapes about 50 cm (20 inches) tall, making them suitable for borders, containers, or as a specimen plant in garden beds. The plant forms a compact clump of narrow, arching foliage, providing structure and texture to the garden throughout the growing season.
Thriving in full sun to partial shade with well-drained, fertile soil, ‘Blue Sheen’ is low-maintenance and resilient across a range of garden conditions. Occasional deadheading helps to extend the flowering period, while its robust growth and adaptability make it suitable for both formal and naturalistic plantings. Its long blooming season and striking colour also help attract pollinators, supporting garden biodiversity. This combination of ornamental beauty and ease of care makes it a valuable addition to any perennial collection.
