Czar Plum

Description

Czar Plum is a vigorous and productive deciduous tree, prized for its large, sweet, deep purple plums that ripen in late summer. In spring it produces delicate, pale pink blossoms that attract pollinators, followed by juicy, flavoursome fruit ideal for fresh eating, cooking, or preserves. Its dense, spreading habit provides shelter for birds and beneficial insects, making it a valuable addition to wildlife-friendly gardens, productive orchards, or mixed borders.

Well suited to UK conditions, Czar Plum thrives in fertile, well-drained soils with full sun exposure. It is hardy, relatively low maintenance, and responds well to pruning to maintain shape and encourage strong fruiting. This variety combines ornamental, ecological, and culinary value, providing seasonal interest and a reliable harvest of high-quality fruit.
